So I haven't "blogged" in so long. I have been waiting to get batteries for our camera so I could put some pictures up. Well, I just keep forgetting to get those batteries, pictures never get taken, and so the procrastination continues. Well, not today. I may not have pictures, but a lot of things to tell. I got the flu shot today. Needles have never bothered me, never. It is just a quick pinch that is over quickly. Well, I take it back. Needles that go in the mouth FREAK ME OUT. Now that is a long lasting pain. It seems like the all-tell phrase "you will feel a little pinch" is something they learn and practice at dental school...I bet it's on their final exam.
A couple of nights ago I was fast asleep when Scott came in and woke me up "I smell smoke, will you help me look for it?" I wasn't too happy about this. I was in the middle of sleeping and it was probably nothing. We looked everywhere; we even went outside to see if neighbor was burning something. Nothing. As we scoured the house for the smell, we realized that it was strongest in the kitchen. We opened the dishwasher, which had just finished a load to the overpowering smell of burnt wood. We looked in the bottom to see a wooden spoon that had fallen through the racks onto the heating element. We took the spoon out to see that it had a big burn mark on it where it rested on the element. I then felt guilty for thinking it was nothing. This could have been bad. We ran the dishwasher again to rid the other dishes of the smell.
Trevor is getting cuter every second. Yesterday I caught him spinning in circles. When he claps his hands, he keeps one hand stationary and hits it with his other hand. Almost like he is giving himself 5. He blows kisses and loves to wave and point at everything. He has learned how to pull himself onto our futon and does it every chance he can get. When he does get up there, he hangs over the edge of the arms, which freaks me out and I make him get down. He gets mad at me. We are working on weaning him off the bottle. He's doing pretty well, when we give him the sippy it takes a while to warm up to it, then he starts to gulp down. I can't believe he is growing up so fast.
I've reached a plateau in my weight loss. So far I have lost 28 pounds. This first half of my journey seemed to come easily. I'm almost there. I just need to keep my motivation . I will get there.
Scott is on swing shift now. This is good and bad. We don't need a babysitter, but I don't get to see him. He leaves the house right when I get home. I miss him. Luckily this will only last for 2 months and then he will switch...again. Shift work sucks, but at least it does switch every 2 months. I would hate to have him be on graves all the time like when we first married. That sucked.
When I get my camera batteries, everyone will be overwhelmed with pictures. I will try to get a video of Trevor spinning; it really is adorable.
