She goes to American Fork High. When it was Homecoming, they were told they couldn't wear spaghetti straps or no strap dresses, which I understand. Must stick with the dress code. Well, some girls were wearing shawls, but took them off when it became too difficult to dance. They were kicked out of the dance. This past weekend the school had another dress-up dance. They couldn't afford to buy two dresses so close together. My cousin and her friends decided to put on a dance all of their own to protest. They found a venue and even got adult chaperones. They sold tickets and about 60 couples showed up.
I can see this issue from both points of view. But what I admire is my cousin for is sticking up for something she believes in and doing something about it.
