Scottsdale

Scottsdale, Scottsdale, Scottsdale. What to say. I had a great time and learned a lot of new strategies. I am trying them out on my 6th graders and they are really enjoying them. But, the most fun parts, of course, do not involve the conference.

The ride down seemed to go by pretty fast. We stopped at the Colorado River, took some pictures, and went on our way. This adorable old lady was selling her jewelry at our stop.

We went to the Cheesecake Factory where tastiness abounded. The best part was when Margo decided to put whip cream all over her face. All of us were cracking up (including our waiter). Those pictures will have to come at a later date. Those are on another camera. Here's Marvelee and Julie looking adorable after a delicious meal.

While having an excellent and humorous dining experience we decided that a makeover night was in store. My before picture was taken while we were at Cheesecake Factory and will be posted when I get those. Here are some after shots. I love the very last one.

It's Scottsdale during Spring Training, so what are teachers attending a conference SUPPOSED to do? You guessed it! Attend a game!

Marvelee and Julie looking good while Rob and Lee Fan are trying to ignore/hide from me.

Look! His last name is English, I was destined to get this picture.

Come on, a guy selling beer while wearing THESE socks? Yep, needed a picture of that too!

The final score: 4-3 with a home run!

All of us girls...yes the boys tended to not be in a lot of our pictures.

Oh look! Here's one of Rob.

The Angels' A

Lee Fan, Julie, and Margo went on a hike and took these magnificent pictures:

Okay, here's our story: The restaurant is called Saddle Ranch and I would go back to Scottsdale just because the restaurant was that fun. Thanks to Marvelee's flirting power we got a free round of drinks (mine went to Julie) that smelled really good, a half-baked cookie ice-cream dessert, and s'mores. The waiter was a good sport and I think he had just as much fun as we did. All appetizers were 1/2 off, so we all ordered an appetizer and split everything. Our bill was only $28! We ended up tipping Andre more than our bill.

While we were sitting there enjoying our tasty appetizers a guy comes over and asks if we are a bachelorette party. We tell him no and he replies "oh we're a bachelor party and are looking for the other half. We'll send some drinks your way anyway." So, here comes our second round of drinks. Once again, I pass mine over to Julie. Wow! I've never had so much free food before. Marvelee says it's all in the flirting.

We were there for about 2 hours. But I couldn't leave without getting a picture on the mechanical bull:

Julie was more brave than me and took the bull on:

Here is a drunk guy that wants to ride the bull. I didn't get it on camera, but he was patting the bull on the head before he took his ride. He was very adament about riding that bull. I got a good laugh out of it.

The cute fire pit outside is where we roasted our 'mallows:

While there I fell in love with the cacti...I have absolutely no reason why. I was determined to get a picture with one before we left. Unfortunately, this was the best I could do:

We had a blast.
