It's worse than I thought, but not THAT bad

Sunday I took my contacts out early because they were bothering me and put on my glasses for the remainder of the evening. The problem: I couldn't read anything out of them! I had these glasses for a long time so this morning I called the eye doctor to get to lenses put into my glasses. It was true, my prescription had changed. I also talked to my doctor about me seeing double with up close objects. He got down and dirty with my eye to discover the cause. It could be the scar on my eye (I had an ulcer on my eye my freshman year of college that left nasty scar tissue) that is within my line of vision or it could be worse (but apparently that's rare). I don't think it is the scar tissue because I see double in both eyes.

He also noticed that I had some "interferences" on my eye that are being caused by wearing my contacts too much or not cleaning them well enough. I cannot wear contacts for 2 weeks! I can't believe this. I am more disturbed by this then by the fact that I could have some serious issue with my eyes. I not only dislike or hate glasses; I DESPISE glasses. I wear them only near the end of the day as I lay awake reading or what not. I also have to put in $100 prescription eye drops 3 times a day for 10 days! Thank heavens that we are double covered on insurance.

I need to go back in three weeks when everything has cleared out of my eyes so the doctor can really look at my eyes without all of the "interferences." I got new lenses in my glasses so they won't be here until Friday or next week sometime. So I get to wear my contacts until then.

When I told Scott he really proved how wonderful of a husband he is by replying "I know you hate glasses, but you really do look great in glasses." How sweet is that? He knows that I despise the wretched glasses, but he still knows what to say to make me feel better.

Cross your fingers for me that it's nothing and pray that these next two weeks may go by fast so I it seems I didn't really wear glasses at all.
