Adventures of Trevor the Toddler

Trevor is learning things so quickly. His vocabulary is huge. He learns a new word/phrase like everyday. My most recent favorite that Scott taught him is Oh Snap. Then comes the part where he likes to get into everything. We have had to bungee cord our table chairs together. He kept pulling them away and climbing on top of everything and reaching sharp objects that a 2 year old shouldn't reach.. Now he tries and gets mad when he can't get that chair to move. We have taught him to kneel and pray, which he never lets us forget. He has even started to mumble things as we say them. We believe he is trying to pray.

Recently however, he has had the opportunity to get into stuff. Two of the three I have picture of, the third one happened around Scott, who doesn't scrapbook and doesn't think to capture these moments, and of course, that is the one that I think is the most funny of the three.

As many of you know, toddlers like to copy their parents in everything. Well, one day as I was in the bathroom Trevor was with me. He kept reaching for things on the counter. He grabbed Scott's electric razor, turned it on and began his first time shaving.

The other day as I was in the mall, I hit up Bath and Body works because they were having another great sale on their hand soaps...which I love! Anyway, I was checking out and talking to the cashier when I look down to find Trevor with a handful of lotion in his hair and a little bit leftover in his hand and he was in the process of trying to rub it in. The part in his hair was HUGE! My guess is he was trying to shampoo his hair. I offered to buy the bottle as the cashier handed my some paper towels. She said no and that she didn't understand why they put lotions on kid level anyway (I know, duh right?) Right as I wiped the huge pile of lotion off of Trevor's head, I thought aloud "I should've taken a picture!" The lady (she was really nice about the whole incident) offered to hand me back the bottle to put more in his hair to get the good picture. I declined and took a picture of the front of his head which was pretty well matted down. He smelled quite lovely. Even Scott noticed that strong smell when we met up for lunch.

Trevor is getting really close to being able to use the potty. He tugs at his diaper and tells us when he has to go. The other day, however, we discovered how close he really was. I was at work and Scott was watching Trevor. Scott was on the computer when Trevor walks in holds his brown covered hands out saying "ewww, ewww" Scott turns around and couldn't figure it out. His first thought is poop, but the only place where there's the brown is on Trevor's hands. Not on his belly, back, or on any of his clothes. Scott takes him into Trevor's room and looks around and nothing. Still only spot where there's brown is on Trevor's hands. He washes Trevor's hands and proceeds to conduct a diaper change. Sure enough is poopy and what does Scott find tucked in the very bottom of the diaper? A WIPE! Scott came to the conclusion that Trevor pooped, and instead of telling Scott that he did, he decided to wipe himself. He grabbed the wipes took one out and began to wipe himself. When one hand didn't work, he went to use the other. Hence, covering his hands in poop. At least he didn't smear it all over the walls right?
