Tyler had his 2 month check-up yesterday. He's a growing boy at a whopping 13 pounds and 14 ounces. That's in the 96 percentile for his age. He's measures at 22 1/2 inches (44 percentile). So while he's short and fat he is still an adorable little guy. We love his smiles and wish that he wouldn't cry when he's not being held. But we're living with it and my homemade Moby wrap is being a lifesaver. We had one concern though when we took him in. His belly button. It's freaking huge!
It is a herniated belly button, which apparently is fairly common, but we were extremely worried. When we touched it we could feel some sort of popping in there. It doesn't hurt him. His cord fell off at about 3 days which we thought that is what caused this. He will probably have an outie (which is okay by me). In most cases it will go away on its own by the time he's FOUR! If not, they'll do surgery, but that's very rare. But FOUR!!! Seems so far away. And these pictures don't really do it justice, it gets bigger.

My nephew had the same thing when he was a baby. I had never even heard of it before. His went away before he was 2 so maybe Tyler's will too.
