Adventures in grocery shopping

There are somethings that are just considered rude while grocery shopping, I had the unfortunate privilege to come across several of them last night: all while standing in line.  There were only 2 lines open (and on a Saturday night in Utah, we all know that's just a bad idea).  Anyway, I got in the barely shorter of the two lines. The people in front of me unloaded their cart right where the little rotating "belt" is and ABANDONED THE CART right there.  Didn't even push it forward and there was plenty of room between my cart and theirs for one of them to push that cart forward.  I was already having a pretty stressful day and I groaned loudly under my breath and said, "Well, that's just rude," as I pushed her cart obviously forward so I could begin putting my stuff of the belt.  It was one of those times when I wanted her to hear it, but not obviously.  My guess is that one of them did because she just looked at me.  Anyway, they were using WIC.  Which my guess is they had never done before.  There was a mom and a daughter and the daughter looked about 8 months pregnant.  It seemed as though the mom was pushing WIC on the daughter.  They had no clue what to do.  Now, we've been fortunate enough to never have to use WIC, but I do know there are certain rules that go along with it.  Several items that they brought in coupons for were the wrong brand, so here goes mom having to go back into the store to get the right stuff.  I was so fed up, there was no one else behind me, and the ones that were, had already been through the next line.  I had about 3/4 of my stuff of the belt and didn't want to unload the belt...should've unloaded.

Well, once WIC had finished, I moved up to take my place, the cashier was friendly and I have no complaints.  But the guy behind me, is a different story.  First, he didn't put a divider between our belongings.  I know some people do it for the person behind them, I do sometimes, but I was already frustrated at Ms. WIC.  So then there was confusion at what was his and what was mine.  Second, I was leaning the little podium next to credit card machine watching my prices.  I already had my debit card out, and I wasn't hiding it, so it's a safe assumption that I was planning on using the machine.  Well, the guy behind me is all up in my business standing right behind that blasted machine.  I couldn't even get in to swipe my card, I had to stand off to the side...what's up with that?  You trying to steal my PIN or something?  He didn't even move when I went to swipe.

GRRR...
