When I was so pregnant with Trevor I couldn't cut my own toenails, and Scott stepped up and volunteered to cut them for me, I knew I had found true love. I tried so hard to bend over to cut those blasted nails, but a belly prevented me from doing so. While I'm not quite that large yet, I can tell it won't be too much longer. The other day I told Scott that I had to cut my toenails as much as possible so he won't have to do it again. His response: "It's okay, I enjoy doing it." At first I was surprised by this admission of enjoyment of cutting my toenails. He added quickly. "It's not like I would do it on an everyday sort of thing, I just like being able to help you when you can't do something."
How cool is that? With Trevor he was so great. He would massage my feet at night when they were swollen beyond belief. Eventually I had to ask him to stop because it hurt too bad to have him touch my feet. It hurt him to see indentations of his hands on my swollen feet, and knowing he could do nothing to help. He's so willing to help where he can knowing that sometimes I'm not all too comfortable. As I enter my 3rd trimester we are ready for these things to start again. And he is ready to help as needed. I am so grateful that I have this amazing companion who treats me with so much respect and love that I never thought I could possibly find. I really have found the most perfect husband.
