Tonight, it starts

There are two shows that I love and I never miss.  I preset my DVR to record every episode just to make sure I don't miss a thing.  The first is Lost, the second is The Amazing Race.  Lost started almost 3 weeks ago.  Tonight The Amazing Race starts. 

I love The Amazing Race.  I'm not a big reality series type, but there's something about this show that draws me in.  Deep down inside, I want to be on it someday.  Not necessarily to win the million dollars, but to travel the world.  How cool would that be?  Perhaps that's why I love to watch it: I get to travel the world without spending the money to do it.  I just finished looking at the bios of each of the racers for season 16.   As I read this stuff, I can't help but be bugged by a slight detail: 3 competitors already have made a name for themselves and really don't need the money.  There's Caitlyn Upton, who is famous for this remark in Miss Teen USA (or one of those scholarship programs).  On her bio she says she has worked hard to overcome that embarrassing moment (yeah, I would to).   Next there's Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd.  This team met on the Big Brother and are now dating.  Jordan won.  Now does she REALLY need to be on here? Honestly, I don't watch Big Brother, but didn't she win a butt-load of money?  And finally there's Steve Smith who is a World Series Champion Coach. 

I'm sure these people have their reasons for wanting to be on the show.  But with how many people apply, must they pick people like this?  I don't think so.

By looking at bios I already have my favorites team 1 would be Dana and Adrian.  This couple started dating in high school.  They remind me of Scott and myself.  We'll see how true this is once I watch them on the show.  Favorite team number 2 is Jet and Cord.  There name is so cowboyish, and that's what they are: cowboys (brothers).  There's something I like about that, can't tell you what though.  And favorite team number 3 is Dan and Jordan. They're kind of hot... yep, that's about it.

One team I don't like is Carol and Brandy.  I don't like this because of Carol's desire of anything pro-women.  Don't get me wrong, I like equal rights and everything.  But it kind of seems that she might be the type that take it too far forgetting that while she wants respect for being homosexual and female, she's doing exactly what she doesn't want done to her to others.  I'm all about equal rights, but don't put other people down in your quest.

Well, there you have it.  What do you think? I can't wait to see how close my predictions are!
