and I was planning on it for a while. If I didn't have Trevor, I would have been at some midnight releasing. But, I would rather have Trevor than a midnight movie. I went to Target at 8 as I walked in about 95% of the people were leaving with only a Twilight movie in hand. I walked into the store found the movie right up front and headed to the band-aid aisle because Scott ran out of gauze for his poor toe.
When I got up to the registers the 3 people in front of me only had a Twilight movie (one person had soap also). The two people behind only had Twilight. What's this world coming to when over half the people are obsessed with Twilight?
My students love these books. Kids that wouldn't read otherwise, are reading these books. Then all of a sudden all these other vampire books are popping up on the scene. It's like Harry Potter all over again, only worse. The night of the movie releasing in the theaters, I had a handful of kids gone because they went to the midnight releasing. One student was checked-out of school to see an afternoon showing. Shortly after it was released, I had students claiming to have seen it 10 or more times. Crazy, I tell you, crazy! The most crazy part, if I was their age, I would have been right there with them.
